A community helper can be defined as any professional who helps with the process of maintaining the overall health and well-being of the community. Community helpers are teachers, doctors, nurses, police, dentists, construction workers and even grocery store workers. To make the beginners familiar with the term “Community helpers” and what type of jobs fall under this term, an activity was conducted for the Kindergarten section of DMIS on January 16th, 2017. The children came dressed up as different community helpers with the props and highlighted their roles in our day to day life. Some of our security guards, gardeners, maids, and drivers were welcomed by the children to the Assembly Hall. The teachers in-charge introduced them to the children and described the services they provide to the school community. The enthusiasm was evident on the young faces and we successfully concluded this activity with the thought - “We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility, it’s easy to say not my community, not my world, not my problem. Then there are those who see the need and respond, those are the real heroes”.
