World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on May 31 organized by WHO. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe. Students of Grade 4Fi were indeed privileged to conduct a special assembly on 31st May, 2016 with the purest intension to enlighten the students and the staff of the various tobacco hazards.


The students presented a heart-rending choral recitation of the poem- The Death of Innocence, which resonates a deep emotional struggle of a child affected with passive smoking. The PowerPoint displayed by Master Sameer explained all the harmful effects of tobacco and the different organs damaged by the excessive use of it. A lively jingle on World No Tobacco Day blending Hindi and English was a good treat to the audience. The icing on the cake was the – Thought for the Day, “Your present actions determine your future” was inspiring. The saying stirred many hearts and awakened their souls. The message was quite transparent: Tobacco thrills but kills!!
